One of MLE's clients, Smurfit Kappa Parenco, a paper producer based in the Netherlands, needed to automate its warehouse to increase logistical efficiency. A solution was required for the transportation of paper rolls from the mill's two paper machines into the warehouse and from the warehouse to the truck loading area. The client required a streamlined process to guarantee that the paper machines were running 24/7. MLE provided a fleet of 16 AGVs with an automated battery exchange system. Coupled with MLE's Warehouse Management System, the driverless fleet of AGVs picks up the paper rolls coming out of production and stacks them in assigned spaces in the warehouse. Then, as the orders come up, the rolls are automatically transported to the dispatch area for truck loading. The long years of experience and continuous development of their product portfolio ensures MLE a successful future on the continuously growing AGV market. With their latest product launch of the AGV FleetController MLE keeps up with the challenge. The FleetController is a single platform that connects all components needed for efficient AGV operations. It easily integrates with any Host System (ERP, MES or WMS) and manages intralogistics transports. The platform has AGV routing and order optimization as standard features for dynamic and efficient traffic management and order handling, which allows clients to increase material throughput and utilize big AGV fleets more efficiently, even in limited operational space. The Fleet Controller also comes with an energy management system that ensures the optimal use of batteries and increases their lifetime. The platform's interface utilizes an industrial standard communication protocol (REST API) for easy and cost-efficient integration to existing infrastructures. The continuous R&D of MLE is dedicated to provide the client with best practice solutions in consideration of user experience and feedback provide through a close cooperation with the customer throughout the entire lifecycle of their systems.
