As we begin 2023, global supply chains are more complex than ever. Ripple effects from the COVID pandemic continue to linger. The world is experiencing economic uncertainty in many regions along with human conflict and natural disasters. The success of shippers and carriers rides on a company’s ability to navigate these increasingly intricate challenges. Luckily, the right technology can eliminate much of the guesswork. In a fractured transportation brokerage market, it’s paramount that businesses choose a broker that can leverage cutting-edge technology to help hit business goals and move items from point A to point B effectively.
RXO was the first transportation broker to invest in a robust technology platform. While other companies are just beginning to expand their digital capabilities, we have a big head start – and that is discernible when using our tech platform. We leveraged more than 10 years of data to build and train our proprietary machine-learning algorithms. Our pricing algorithm accounts for current market conditions, historical data and future indicators to provide the right price for every lane, at every point of time.
RXO Connect is the heart of our technology platform. Designed to be responsive to the evolving needs of both shippers and carriers, the platform links some of North America’s most formidable companies with more than 100,000 carriers and more than 1.5 million trucks.
Whether a company is big or small, our platform adds value. Large shippers typically prefer a system-to-system type of integration (based on APIs), while smaller shippers access our online digital interfaces. Either way, functionality is smooth—allowing shippers to quote and buy capacity online and use self-service analytics to streamline their decision-making and optimize their spend. Shippers have continuous, real-time visibility into freight as it moves through the supply chain. RXO Connect is also easy to customize to specific shipper needs – with personalized dashboards and direct access to data.
The functionality and customization are equally valuable for carriers, who can post their available capacity, book loads and track their trucks. They can use RXO web interfaces to run their business. Our proprietary load recommendation engine makes finding relevant loads and managing capacity easy and efficient. By tapping into this capability, carriers maximize the utilization of their equipment, eliminate empty miles and increase their total pay.
Like Connect, RXO Drive can be easily adjusted to meet the needs of each user. For instance, a self-employed driver with their own truck will need to access the load-board on the road, while a fleet driver might only need tracking and document upload capabilities. RXO Drive also links carriers to RXO Extra™, our recently expanded suite of carrier reward offerings, incentives and discounts on fuel, maintenance, tires and more.
Providing an unrivaled user experience and consistent value to shippers and carriers continues to drive adoption of RXO’s technology platform. About 70 percent of users consistently return to the platform within one week. We have more than 920,000 total app downloads. And in Q4 of 2022, more than 87 percent of loads were created or covered digitally.
In 2023, technology should be central to any successful supply chain strategy. At our core, RXO is a technology company. We offer a personalized and seamless user experience and robust data that links the right shippers with the right carriers, helping both succeed.
