Logenix International
Pushing The Boundaries Of Global Logistics

These insightful words by the Greek philosopher, Aristotle, are at the heart of the philosophy that drives the excellence of Logenix International—a preeminent provider of global logistics services to and throughout the developing world.

In many parts of the developing world, the infrastructure is so abysmal that it is hard to imagine shipping and distributing essential supplies in tough-to-reach areas. Not to mention the policies, regulations, and enforcement measures that are constantly in a state of flux. This makes the flow of goods even more difficult in war-torn and disaster-stricken areas.

However, what often turns out to be a logistical nightmare for most logistics companies is just a typical day's work for Logenix. "Aristotle's maxim deeply resonates with our motto to continually excel in whatever we do. Whether it is moving an air freight shipment to Myanmar or delivering services at the heart of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, our determination to pursue excellence in every avenue is what propels us toward success," says Ron Cruse, President of Logenix International.

Logenix is guided by the mission to provide unparalleled on-time and on-budget services for global health programs, development infrastructure for construction, agriculture, telecommunications, security and contingency, and disaster relief across all developing countries. The company partners with highly respected multinational companies and humanitarian donor organizations, such as USAID, UK’s FCDO, The World Bank, Asian Development Bank and others that work on hundreds of development and infrastructure programs across the globe. Logenix dispatches ships, aircraft, and trailers to deliver critical supplies to Africa, war torn areas like Afghanistan and Iraq, and impacted disaster zones such as Haiti and Indonesia.

How It All Began…

Logenix's evolution as a premier logistics partner to the world's most critical supply chains is powered by the experience Cruse earned during the early stages of his career. Cruse's entrepreneurial journey began in the early eighties and took a progressive turn when he ran a worldwide supply chain of medications and hospital equipment for three hospitals in Saudi Arabia. Having observed the many supply chain challenges associated with the developing world from close quarters, Cruse was firmly determined to turn the hurdles into an opportunity to carve an interesting and attractive niche in the logistics industry.

In the mid-eighties, Cruse founded his first company, an international logistics firm, which had evolved into an $85 million organization by the time he sold it. Following the fall of the Soviet Union, Cruse set up one of the first Russian- American joint venture companies that was instrumental in operating the largest humanitarian relief program organized by the U.S. for the former republics. The company also delivered critical equipment for the modernization of RBMK (reaktor bolshoy moshchnosti kanalnyy, "high-power channel-type reactor") and Chernobyl nuclear power reactors to Russia and Ukraine. Additionally, Cruse and his team were involved in transporting Nunn-Lugar weapons dismantlement equipment to former cities of the Soviet Union.

In 2001, drawing upon his wealth of industry experience, Cruse established Logenix, an integral cog in the rebuilding of Afghanistan and the reconstruction of Iraq.

Logenix has come a long way since then and now operates in over 140 countries annually. "I hired the best and the brightest, and here we are today. I believe we are the most reliable and cost-effective operator serving to and through the developing world, owing to our deep-seated knowledge and extensive experience. We, in fact, outperform even the biggest companies in the world," shares Cruse.

Navigating the Supply Chain Complexities in the Developing World
Every developing country has a different set of rules and regulations that can change capriciously.

Adding to the complexities are the challenges spurred by the pandemic, including limited transportation facilities,sky-high transportation costs, and customs clearance, to name a few. To untangle these complexities, Logenix follows a two-pronged approach—intelligence gathering and extensive training.

Intelligence gathering is a 24/7 operation that involves collecting and storing information and insights about day-to-day activities in developing countries. With the help of Logenix's internal IT tools this information is available to staff in real time. This information typically revolves around the situation in a country at that point in time—the status of airlines or ports, travel guidelines, or border measures— which are subject to constant change. Logenix updates the information in its management system in order to help the team internalize it.

The company provides specialized training to its employees to help them be flexible and adapt to unexpected, unfavorable situations arising in various countries. Whether it's strike, famine, volcanic eruption, or the COVID-19 pandemic, the Logenix team is up to speed with every event and is well equipped to handle such complex challenges.

Comprehensive Suite of State-of-the-Art Global Logistics Services

Logenix has developed an industry-leading web-based tracking system, the Logenix Tracking System (LTS)—the company's own custom IT platform. LTS is a full-fledged SCM (Supply Chain Management) solution that enables real-time updates while being fully cloud enabled with vigorous geo-replication failover capabilities. Powered by SQL Server, best-practice C# 4.6, and JavaScript web frameworks with external communication equipped to use X12 EDIFACT over AS2 protocol standards and JSON to a RESTful API, the system allows customers to seamlessly access all data. With LTS, Logenix provides customers with increased reliability and enhanced visibility into products in transit while ensuring the accuracy of the data.

Whether It Is Moving An Air Freight Shipment To Myanmar Or Delivering Services At The Heart Of The Democratic Republic Of The Congo, Our Determination To Pursue Excellence In Every Avenue Is What Propels Us Toward Success

Drawing upon its expertise, the company leveraged its agile, flexible decision-making, and innovative problem-solving capabilities to keep the cargo moving to locations most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the last two years, Logenix has been delivering lifesaving medicines and equipment to Nepal, Bhutan, Mongolia, and other countries where transportation and logistics services have been severely impacted.Moreover.
Besides the UN, Logenix is the only company in the world to deliver life saving medicines to Yemen via airfreight.

Due to the proxy war between Iran and Saudi Arabia over Yemen, it is crucial for any logistics company to get flight approval from Saudi authorities to deliver medicines to Yemen. Logenix has achieved this feat effortlessly with improved visibility into clearances. Over the last year, the company has run half a dozen air charters of lifesaving medicines to Yemen

Culture Steeped in Excellence
Cruse attributes the success of Logenix to his team of highly qualified professionals with unparalleled industry experience and deep-rooted knowledge of all the developing countries. Logenix's senior management staff in the U.S. and Europe each holds over 25 years of industry experience, whereas teams in Dubai, India, and Afghanistan have been together and working with the company for 12 years.

Logenix empowers its employees with an exceptional decision-making ability to help them excel in their roles and deliver spotless services. The company believes in group-thinking, where everybody in the team is given a chance to voice their opinions and share better ideas to improve decisions, and consequently, services. Logenix has fostered a work culture that enables its employees to constantly learn, improve, and perform to the best of their capabilities. They know whom to reach out to whenever they need help with any decision.

What distinguishes Logenix from many industry behemoths is its approach to training professionals. Unlike many companies that train their teams in just one tiny sphere of the supply chain for years, Logenix educates everybody in its team on every aspect of the supply chain. "We call it training to be a steely-eyed forwarder. Our senior managers ensure that our middle managers take out sufficient time to pass on detailed supply chain knowledge to their team members to help them learn and clearly understand the entire process," informs Cruse.

  • I Believe We Are The Most Reliable And Cost-Effective Operator Serving To And Through The Developing World, Owing To Our Deep-Seated Knowledge And Extensive Experience

Logenix's journey over the years has been nothing short of inspirational, and the company will continue pushing new boundaries with the same vigor in the years to come. By penetrating the Indian market, Logenix has grown by leaps and bounds over the past three years to emerge as one of the largest providers of logistics services for commodities ranging from medicines to construction and power equipment. Steering ahead, the company plans to expand further in Europe, growing its current presence in the U.K. and Netherlands. As organic growth strategies have worked the best for Logenix, the company plans to take advantage of more such opportunities across Asia.

Logenix will continue to add experienced professionals to improve its capabilities and continue to do what it does best—delivering unparalleled, cost-effective, and reliable supply chain services to and throughout the developing world.
