THANK YOU FOR SUBSCRIBING
Ken Marcoon, OwnerCombining over two decades of industry experience and market intelligence, MVP Textiles makes supply chain management look effortless.
MVP specializes in end-to-end supply chain management for the retail apparel market, from raw material sourcing to production to logistics for guaranteeing the highest quality of products and services. With a team of experts in yarn technology, textile coatings, and treatments, MVP applies a 100 percent vertically integrated textile manufacturing process, controlling all aspects, including knitting, weaving, dyeing, and finishing. Its talented group of global logistics professionals ensures that goods are delivered on time, every time.
“Our staff has a minimum of 30 years of experience working around the globe. This hands-on experience comes from being out in the field, acquiring deep knowledge to deliver superior service to our customers,” says Ken Marcoon, owner of MVP Textiles. MVP works exclusively with socially responsible factories across the globe that are capable of producing finished goods from knits, woven materials, fleece, and weatherproof products. MVP’s production process is focused on quality that meets the customer’s demands. Once the goods are produced, MVP can handle the transportation and importation of the products from different parts of the world into the U.S. Regular interaction with hundreds of brands and retailers allows MVP to stay on top of market trends and help customers obtain their garments at the right price.
Global Partnerships that Ensure a Resilient Supply Chain
The dependence on Asia-based factories has significantly affected production during and after the pandemic, making it increasingly difficult for organizations to meet the growing consumer demands. Despite the challenges, MVP was constantly ahead of the game, ensuring production remained on track for its clients.
This was made possible largely due to MVP’s long-standing relationships with supplier partners built over the years with face-to-face interactions, allowing it to operate nimbly and help its customers focus on running their businesses.
Building relationships that help meet customer demands has been at the core of MVP since its inception. Having worked in the textile production management business for twenty-five years, Mr. Marcoon had developed numerous business partnerships, one of which was with a large private-label candle manufacturing company. They both imported large volumes of goods for their businesses and decided to use their collective resources to get better shipping rates across the globe.
MVP then created the perfect supply chain management solution, scrutinizing thousands of factories to identify ones that performed an exceptional job, paring it down to a limited pool of factories that meet rising customer expectations.
A No-Compromise Attitude
“COVID-19 has become a catch-all excuse for not getting things done. At MVP, we do not tolerate non-performance. We find trusted partners that can navigate supply chain complexities, have the right solutions in place, and can get the job done without making a fuss,” says Marcoon.
MVP works hard for its customers to provide finished goods at the required price, timeline, and quality.
For instance, if one of its yarn suppliers adds 15 days to its supply lead time, MVP does not let the delay impact its customers. It will utilize another certified yarn supplier that can provide materials of the same specifications within the required timeline.
Understanding that responsibility is key to building a successful business partnership, MVP performs extensive due diligence when onboarding a new vendor. It identifies the right partners to take ownership of quality, workmanship, and on-time performance. It ensures that its problems never become the customer’s problem and delivers on its promises at all costs.
MVP has also managed to continue to serve its customers without increasing prices. Its new and existing customers enjoy services at pre-pandemic rates, which is unprecedented in the industry.
For instance, a multinational trucking company was purchasing uniforms at a delivered duty paid (DDP) price of $10 per unit from another vendor.
In another instance, MVP’s services were solicited by a U.S. seller of high-value reflective garments. The import duties and tariffs on typical Asia-based production solutions made them an unfeasible option for the client. Having recently completed a JV sewing unit in Jordan and Egypt, MVP had the perfect solution for the customer. By sending all the selected reflective materials and finished fabrics to the new facility in Jordan, the company was able to significantly reduce the DDP U.S. prices.
Going the Extra Mile
Behind MVP’s success is a team of dedicated individuals that do not accept failure. Driven by an attitude to deliver excellence, the team provides a top-tier customer experience in pricing, quality, and on-time delivery. With MVP, you will never be routed to a phone tree or listen to hold music, you will have direct lines to all critical parties for your program.
“Success does not come from analysis and desk work, but by people on the ground, who do not rest until the job is done. It is these people that make the exceptional team at MVP,” says Marcoon.
Over the years, MVP and its employees have been quick to evolve and adapt to the rapid changes in the industry. It has transformed itself into a leaner organization with employees capable of filtering through the noise, identifying the right partners, conducting due diligence, and having a deep understanding of the supply chain.![]()
Success does not come from analysis and desk work, but by people on the ground, who do not rest until the job is done. It is these people that make the exceptional team at MVP
For example, MVP’s Director of Production for Asia, who grew up in Sri Lanka around the textile business there, has managed apparel operations for Walmart and, as a result, has gained a deep understanding of the high-level expectations of global customers.
MVP’s growth over the years has been prolific and consistent. Without a doubt, its apparel supply chain management services are second-to-none and continue to drive incredible value for customers in a tumultuous market.
