FREMONT, CA: Accel-KKR, a prominent technology-based investment firm, has announced that it has settled on a carve-out acquisition of the Shipper TMS section of the Supply Chain Optimization (SCO) software business portfolio, which is owned by Wabtec Corporation. Furthermore, the Shipper TMS business offers cloud-based multi-modal shipment management applications to consumers in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The industrial shippers, carriers, logistics providers, and bulk terminal operators can recognize the Shipper TMS business with their two popular product brands, ShipperConnect and ShipXpress.

The acquisition is strategic for Accel-KKRs platform investment in PINC, a Gartner Best of Breed digital yard management software solution. On June 16, 2020, Accel-KKR achieved a significant growth equity investment in PINC. Like the ones offered by the Shipper TMS business, the multi-modal TMS and analytics solutions are one of several development strategies in support of PINC's goal to increase its digital yard management and transportation management solutions. The solution will help the clients to use complicated supply chain.

The shippers moving huge amounts of commodities in the energy, mining, agricultural, metals, and chemical verticals rely on multi-modal shipments. This is because of its reliability, cost efficiency, and sustainability afforded along with the mix of modality compared to a single form of transportation. Amongst its significant abilities, Shipper TMS even offers yard management, shipment visibility, rate management, and bulk inventory management. The system allows an accurate and timely flow of information to every party, from origin to the destination.

The joint businesses will serve as a groundwork for the Supply Chain Execution (SCE) platform focused on a comprehensive transportation management software solution for shippers. The platform will also concentrate on offerings that serve the origin and termination points in the supply chain, focusing on rail, truck, and terminal yard management. Along with real-time visibility, electronic documentation, analytics, billing, rating, and carrier management functionalities, the platform can solve numerous transportation issues in the supply chain industry.
