With new strategies to enhance precision and availability of tank car loading calculations, Bourque Logistics has gained an exclusive license of the volume correction (VCF) source code from Quartz Precision Software.
FREMONT, CA: Bourque Logistics, a railcar shipping systems provider, has come up with new strategies to enhance precision and availability of tank car loading calculations. With a robust rail operations software used by 250 industrialized railyards in North America, Bourque has entirely automated rail shipping operations such as switching, railcar request and release, order scheduling, online inventory, rail inspection, BOL transmission, and rack assignment. It has gained an exclusive license of the volume correction (VCF) source code from Quartz Precision Software, which has served as an essential resource to the refinery and chemical shippers. Bourque will continue to work with Quartz to assure adherence to the API requirements and also plans to migrate the VCF code base to the current .Net framework for cloud-based availability to rail shippers.
Bourque will use their extensive tank car outage table database for packaging the VCF technology as it is critical for the availability of outage tables to ensure a safe and optimized tank car loading process for the liquid and gaseous product. Bourque provides its clients the access to outage tables resulting in reduced manual efforts that delay tank car loading operations.
The company’s new cloud-based service allows a streamlined method to roll out its evolving technology for its customers. The company is aiming to leverage the cloud and the existing conduit of INet’s Mobile, AEI-scanning tablets utilized by their chemical and refining clients to provide upgraded tank car loading capability.
Bourque is also looking to work closely with its partner, Industrial Networks (INet) to supply the enhanced VCF process directly into the field, with the help of INET’s YardMaster Mobile, AEI-scanning tablets. YardMaster helps in load and offloads optimization by incorporating advanced outage, bay verification, and volume correction calculations. Improved VCF technology and the direct field access will enable the operators with the ability to perform VCF calculations on loading racks continuously, thereby saving effort and time.
